Winterising your engine

To-day I winterised the engine. I ran the engine unitill it was dry of ordinary petrol this took approx 1 hour at tick over. Then with the petrol and the fuel additive I re-primed the engine and let it run for circa 15 mins and let the Etec fog the cylinders.
I was surprised at how long it took to run the "old" petrol out of the engine. I thought it would take circa 15 minutes.
It makes you wonder if most engines are ran for 15 min after the fuel additive is added to the tank without draining out the engine, then only the fuel in the tank is protected but the engine is not .

Just thought that fellow ribneters would want to know
