Wiring a starter to Honda BF20

Hi gents,

Could anyone please advise me on a starter wiring?

I try to fit an aftermarket new starter on a Honda BF20 but without the controls, I don't need them. I only want to fit a switch to start engine.

On the starter I have 2 bolts (1 on the top, 1 at the body/bottom) plus 2 wires for the magnetic switch (one black, and one black with white line).

I understand I have to wire the main feed 12v + to the top bolt, the - to the body/bottom, but I'm a bit confused about the magnetic switch supply. Do I have to just shorten the black to black/white cable to put the starter on? Or I have to feed 12v to those 2 wires? Say the black/white on + and the black on -?

Thanks for advise.
