Yam 25hp 2 stroke issues

Hi Guys

New to boating and outboards so I was hoping someone could offer some advice with an issue I have.

My 1995 Yam 25hp 2 stroke.
Starts first pull ticks over lovely.

I get spluttering after about 45 secs of high revs. When I say 45 secs I haven't timed it, just a guess.
It guessing a fuel starvation thing because it doesn't fully cut out just splutters.
It'll zip along at half revs without issues at all but open her up from there, 45 secs and splutter. Back her off to low revs, let her get her breath back of she goes again.

Simple things tried. Breather open on tank, check. Breather blocked, open up main cap a turn as well. Primer bulb stays fairly firm throughout.

Any known issues, easy fixes, or generally suggestions I'd be greatful.

Thanks

That does sound like a fuel supply issue; I’d suggest checking the lift pump diaphragm, the check valve in the primer bulb, fuel filter and lastly give the carbs a strip and clean (not necessarily in that order... filter first is easier!

Hi, I will first control the fuel line, look like a blockage somewhere. Sometime fuel hose desintegrate inside when they are old.
To change the fuel line can be a good start if old. Good thing also is to mix Quickcare all the time, this stabilise the fuel and protect, & clean the engine and the carb.

Regard
