Yam 60 4stroke expected fuel consumption

Hi

I have just changed my RIB from the Avon 400 with a Yam 30 2 stroke to a Zodiac Medline with a 60 yam 4 stroke (new)

does any body have any idea what sort of fuel consumption i can expect from it, as i will not be able to get a full tank through her before the next RIB cruise, the tank is 100 litres

im looking at about 25knots @ 4800 rpm 4 up

is there any specific formula or is it try it and see ?

ive only done about 2 hours in her so far and didnt fill the tank before i started (got board at the petrol station) then managed to spray petrol all over me

only 8 hours to go before shes run in good it seems like for ever when your tootling along at 4000 rpm watching the hour meter

any help would be greatly appreciated

i know that in time i will get to know this information but i could really do with an idea

thanks

Andy

PS is there thread on here that owners can submit there fuel/engine/boat weight lenght usage etc that we could all use may be if there isnt there should be ? in some sort of spread sheet/graph i dont know how complicated this would be (JK)

Sorry cannot provide help with the fuel consumption figures, just sympathy with your plight; running in that is! Pain, isn't it. All I can say is that when you look back the horror diminishes with time
Of course, one other solution is to buy an etec

I would guess it would be similar or better than my suzuki 70 , which does about 1/2 litre per mile on average and better if I keep it cruising steady at about 25
You should go a long way on 100ltrs

there is a general rule of thumb that a 2/ uses 1 US gallon per hour, for each 10HP at full throttle. A 4/ uses about 20% less.

so 60 HP 4stroke = 0.8 x 6 x 3.8 = approx 18 L/h at FOT. Will be less at cruising speed.

I think there is a thread for 6m boats somewhere - but not 4m boats.
