Yam 75 2 stroke carb problem

After fitting a new filter and fuel line the engine is running rough on 2 cyls. Taking the cover off the back of the carbs I saw fuel coming out of a small port above and left of the middle carb air inlet. I am assuming this is float problem or blocked jet. I have tried lightly tapping the side of the fuel bowl but no joy.
Pulling out manual choke engine picks up to 3 cyls but shutting choke it goes back to 2 cyls.
Please can I ask for any advice before stripping off carbs - is there anything I can do to clear problem? Or if I do have to take off carbs whether I can take off just middle one after disconnecting linkages.
Finally which way should I attack carb when off.
I have a manual but it is locked away until Monday

the carbs are more easily removed together, not too bad a job once they are off. Just note down the screw positions etc.....
