yam 9.9 gearbox oil

ive just drained the oil out of the leg on the outboard and need to know if i can fill it with EP80W-90 gearbox oil i have for my old car.

it looks and smells like the oil out the leg and my ep80 oil are the same. im hoping to use it on saturday for a spin around the estuary

Yamaha specs 90wt hypoid gear oil, which is the same as the EP designation.

I think you'll be fine.
