Yamaha 30D Autolube oil pump

Hi All,

Stripped down and cleaned the carbs (big bold move for me)..

Now the engine was running lumpy at low revs (fine at high revs) and someone suggested the Autolube pump may not be playing nicely..

New one is v expensive.. cannot find any video's on taking one apart..

Would I be opening myself up to a world of pain or is this pump serviceable?

Thanks in advance for any advice..

It is not the oil pump.

Assuming there are no air leaks between the carbs and the intake manifold, You need to statically balance the carbs.

Also what have you set the pilot adjustment to? The 30d is unusual that each carb has a different number of turns out for the base setting.

Hi Phantom 19,

Thanks.. 2 of the carb adjustment screws were missing when I stripped the carbs.. the pilot adjustment has not been touched and she ran fine for the first 8hrs..

Then the low rpm roughness and smoking..

Gonna have to re-balance the carbs and figure out the pilot adjustment screw...

But.. if all that doesn’t work.. lol.. just doing some research whilst I wait on the carb service kit to arrive..

Could it be gunked up and not adjusting the oil properly hence the rough running and smoking at lower revs?
