I went through this fun & games when trying to decipher mine!

F = 4 stroke
9.9 = power
F = generation of engine
M = manual tilt & start
H = tiller control

6AUK = can't help on that one I'm afraid, although Yamaha refer to it as the "Approved Model Code". Some internal referencing system I should imagine

S = short shaft

1002625 = sequential serial number

H = year (2008 I believe)

Does any of that match what you were expecting / what your engine actually is?!

This link gives you confirmation of the main code & details of other combinations

https://www.yamaha-motor.eu/uk/infor...del-codes.aspx

Seems they class short as standard for the shaft length

I discovered meaning for all those letters. I'm not sure about a year, that label is missing. I think Yamaha don't mark a year of production with a letter since 2005.
But when I search for spare parts on Yamaha web, there's no sequence "F9.9FMH" in drop down list

There's no letter H as a third letter after numbers (F9.9FMH)

Have a look at the image below

As for the Yamaha website, try using F9.9F in the drop down as you'll find it also pulls through combinations of the other characters when you hit the search button

According to this table, my OB must be F9.9MSH, but it isn't, it's F9.9FMH (or FMHS).
I'm pretty confused.
Yamaha parts lookup: there is no my model

Today I realised I was looking at wrang photography of an outboard label. This is correct one. Now, I was able to find user and service manuals.
