Hi folks ,
I found yesterday an interesting offer on ebay UK where a short block of an 90hp 2 stroke Yamaha with very low hours in new condition was offered .
Here the link :
eBay: Neue und gebrauchte Elektronikartikel, Autos, Kleidung, Sammlerst
I contacted the seller :
Dear outboardmotorseurope,
I am interested in your powerhead but still have a couple of questions :What is the reason that you sell this engine in parts ?What failed on this motor ?What makes you so sure that this 10 years old motor worked onla very low hours ??Why did you take off the cylinder head ?Any kind of corrosion in the liners ?
Answer :
Hi it belonged to the RNLI lifeboat here in the uk and never got put on a boat, instead they used parts to repair other engines they use, they were stored for many years then sold off, it looks like new all over even clean original in the exhaust and round cylinders, we can send to Germany for £28.00 please call us on 0044 1353 624616 and we can take MasterCard or Visa or you can pay by visa MasterCard online
After this the auction was finished by the seller .
Message from seller :
Did you want the powerhead?
A bit later :
hi whats your number, sorry we cannot take paypal on this item,.we are a mail order company and take Visa or Mastercard, What is your email address so i can send pics, we have a 90 autolube coming in we may use these parts for if not
My answer :
Strange way of doing business . You offered the short block on ebay - including PayPal - but now you finished the auction and you request credit card payment .
Does not sound very serious and I keep my fingers off .
sellers reply :
most of what we sell is off ebay!
OUTBOARD MOTORS EUROPE LIMITED - the listing was ended because you wanted it, dont mind anyway as we have a 90 Autolube coming in thats been under, we are going to use the pistons and crankshaft from this block for it.
What is your opinion ?
May be I am too sensitive ?
Not everybody in the UK is such an honest soul like RogueWave who sold me the Searider in a quite unusual way based on mutual trust ..
Cheers - Jürgen
