Does anyone know how to remove the rev limiter on a twin cylinder mariner/ Yamaha 6e9 40 Hp outboard, I've been told it's possible ?
Anyone know?
Thanks. Jim
what rev limiter? The wide open throttle revs are controled by the propeller, too small a pitch higher revs, a bigger pitch lower revs. Do not over rev the power head, it could go BANG, and end up very expensive.
So maybe there is no limiter, my research seems to indicate that these motors safely rev to 6500rpm, all steel one piece crank and little danger of blowing the bottom end so maybe there is no limiter ? :-/
