Yamaha Trim gauge on a mercury outboard

I have a yamaha outboard trim gauge. Could I fit this to a mercury outboard and would it work?
Thanks in advance..

Trim gauges work on resistance from the variable resistor on the engine and these are normally different ohms for different manufactures.

You might be lucky though but try and look into after market gauges as they will tell you what ohms your engine needs...

RIBase
It MAY not work-the Yam trim sender might not be a variable resistor. I think I remember Doggypaddle having fun dismantling one and saying it wasn't.
