The letter that you use to identify the age is actually in the bottom corner of he serial plate, normally the right side and it's etched into it. It's not any of the model lets. M is not used in the age range. Here's a pic of the location of the letter you need o look for. Marked with a blue dot. in this case it's a S which puts it at 2001 (or if on he older design metal serial plate would be 1980)
The red circled letter is NOT to be confused with the age letter. That just denotes the shaft length!
