Yanmar 315 6lp help required

Has anybody experienced oil leaking from the crank case breather on one of these engines?

It runs very well, no smoke/steam etc. I have been told either worn liners/rings but thought I would ask here. I have checked the oil level and it is perfectly accurate, and the correct oil.

thanks

Sorry, not up on yanmars. All i can say is, i had a tractor in place of mine for a warranty job, it had 9000 hours on the clock. I started working it had and i had to stop because of the smoke coming out the breather. I got worried! Turns out a good oil change and new air filter sorted it. Different applications i realise but thought i might give an experience.

I will ask about. If the breather was blocked, oil would come out of the dipstick. The thing is that dipstick is quite stiff on that model, so I wonder if the breather pipe is blocked or partially blocked leading to back pressure. For oil to come out of the breather there has to be sump pressurisation usually caused by piston rings or blocked breather. Overfilling the engine oil can cause crankcase to pressurise.
