Spoke to them at Southampton and they were very upbeat, on the point of finalising some major distribution deals.

Apparently production versions will be available next year, although they will initially be releasing systems for twin engine installations first, then as far as I remember they will be producing small singles (but I'm not 100% sure on that). I think it is likely to be a good couple of years before we see anything that might replace a regular sterndrive on a single engined 300+hp diesel RIB.

They have signed a deal with Finning the Caterpillar people so no prizes for guessing what engines they will use.

That's no surprise at all the money behind yellow fin (and there was boatloads of it) was always reckoned to be from VW. I do believe that finnings distribute Cat, Perkins Sabre and VW marine engines

I seem to remember their website saying that the Yellowfin would also be available as a direct replacement for existing outdrive legs - so hopefully it will be able to fit a whole range of engines.

Yes it will obviously fit most engines - but I suspect certain ones will be favoured!!!

Will be great to see how it performs. It has to be better than that stupid IPS system from Volvo - asking for trouble if you ground out!!!
