2006 optimax 150 nmea

Was hoping someone can offer advice.
I'm hoping to fit the simrad go7 and was considering fitting a nmea2000 starter kit to link my engine to the gps.

Is there anything else I need to get other than the starter kit?
Is it worth doing in the first place?

Hoping to display engine data on the gps as well as gain accurate fuel tracking etc.

Thanks

For proper fuel tracking you would probably need a memory module too. The rest depends on your engine. 2006 was the beginning of The N2k era & it was all a bit wishy washy with regards to standards & protocols. It still is where Suzuki is concerned, but that’s another thread. The first thing you need to know is, is your engine N2k compliant, what N2k data is it outputting & how do you physically access the data? Is there a port on the engine to plug into & is a data cable available to fit it.

Thanks PD, I'll have to do a bit of investigation.
