I've looked on Google and I can't find a supplier of 20ah 12v li-ion (Poover) batteries. Suggestions gratefully received.

So am I !!!! I'm talking about April 2021 at the earliest.
At that weight, 2 or 3 battery's may be the easier way to go.

Especially if you use led lights as they use next to no power. Also a wind up lantern running LEDs is very good

Lithium Ion will be very expensive.
A pair of sealed lead acid batteries like these would do the job and would not be too heavy or difficult to carry

see below
i know its tohatsu but they make engines for mercury/mariner i do know when i did a 3.3 merc up he sent me tohatsu parts but just check with him some dont like dealing with the company but i found them helpful delivery is prompt.
the cost might be prohibitive. OMO i wouldn't be without on my setup especially for my wild camping trips i run chartplotter combo, vhf, accessory socket with a 20 amp hour get battery.

We have the same Poover batteries. Purchased off FleaBay from some dodgy Chinese outlet. About £65 with charger, 12 months down the line, not exploded yet!
Unfortunately can’t find them on eBay at the moment, but there are similar ones in blue shrink wrap, from equally dodgy dealers.

Those are Lithium Polymer. I used many of those with radio control planes. They can be somewhat unstable and potentially dangerous. I would stick to sealed Lead Acid or Gel batteries or Lithium Ion if you want to spend your money

The Poover batteries are deffo not lithium polymer....and neither are the ones in the link if you read the tech specs.

The copy and paste below is the title of the product in the link
DC 12V Lithium Polymer Battery With Switch Rechargeable 4800-20000mAh +Charger
It says Lithium Polymer does it not

Now now let's not have a spat about a battery!
With the help of your good selves I have come to a decision. I'm initially going to try just a 12v 20ah battery (probably a dodgy blue shrink wrapped one! ) in a battery box with all the usual external connections. Hopefully that will last the 2 or 3 days SIBing and camping.
If it doesn't last the course then I will fit the OB charging system.
Thanks for all your help.

Found a few Poover 12v 20ah ones on fleaBay, a bit more than the shrink wrap style though. They are all just a bunch of lithium-ion 18650 cells (3x8) and BMS circuit board protection in either a standard case or shrink wrapped.
Both our two have proved reliable and not exploded yet, although wouldn’t leave them on charge unattended overnight!

You surprise me SR - 12 outboards, numourous boats of different shapes and sizes, model planes, all of which you can afford to buy, store and maintain. Yet you would quibble over a battery, that I agree costs double, but is less than half the size and a quarter of the weight. For the extra £35 I think it's worth it.
