Ais

Hi all ,just bought a little quark a028 ais reciever ,says its plug and play which sounds good ,have fitted it ,plugging onto my nmea 2000 backbone where it takes power from leds flashing etc
problem is i havnt taken to the water yet and tbh i dont know what i am looking for ......so sure lots of folks on here will tell me ,i have taken a photo of what i am now seeing ,but forgot to take before fitting
so question is any AIS info on my plotter (garmin 750)

You will likely need to go into the menus of the plotter and turn on the AIS layer.

Bear in mind, when you are way from the water, AIS reception will be limited - it's about 3-5 miles for leisure kit at the best of times. You might spot a SAR helo blatting about if you can hear one on the VHF - they transmit AIS

Thanks guys , was rather hoping the designations on the screen 0021 0052 may be what i am looking for ? 0049 is my boat ,i dont think these designations were there before ??
