another question garmin 451! fuel data

well here we go another question. Channel Ribs, you seem to be the man with the know how ;-)

as already said i have the 451s and would like to set the fuel facility up. i am also looking for a bigger fuel tank to go at the front of the boat out of the way and to give it a better range without having to change tanks.

would i just need to buy the gfs 10 and a fuel tank that has the correct fitting on ??
i have also seen the connector for £175 in the uk but plenty of other big stores in the US seem tp have the same for £89??

thanks again phil

No rest for the wicked.

Yes, the GFS10 will give you both fuel flow and convert an analogue tank gauge into N2K.

I did a quick Google Shopping search and yes there are US retailers doing them for the equivalent of 80 quid. I have no reason to suspect the part is any different to the one we get this side of the pond.

Our price inc delivery would be about £139.

Before buying the GFS10, take a look at the siting requirements - I looked into it and decided there was nowhere practical I could fit it on the boat, which complied with Garmin's requirements.

In reality of course, it may work ok in a non-compliant siting.

Both, you would have a sender in the tank and a dial on the console. The GFS10 connects to the wire between the two.
