Anyone got a manual for a Garmin 178?
Anyone got one I can have a nose at?

Are you thinking of getting one? They're really good units for the price

Already got one-it came with the new boat but didn't have a manual.
It's a shame I can't power it up here to play with it-only when it's on the boat.

Get a spare lead and wire it to a battery or power supply, that's what I do with my electronics. I think the garmin ones are reasonably priced and readily available.

Lowrance do simulators to load on the laptop! It means you can really learn how to set up routes and waypoints away from the boat.
I have found this really useful.

My last GPS was a Lowrance and I had the simulator on the PC. It would tip the balance in Garmin's favour quite a lot if they did the same!
