Backing up Nautic Path Chart software

Hi All

This is my first post on Ribnet, so please be gentle with me...

Unfortunately a few weeks ago I suffered a breakin at my home and had a considerable amount of electronics for my rib and huge amount of diving equipment stolen.

Just in case I suffer another unfortunate episode (or equipment failure) I'm looking to backup my Nautic Path chart (on an SD card) which was in my trusty handheld gps at the time of the breakin and thankfully the scum bags missed. (Especially as it contains all my favourite diving marks)

Does anybody know whether it is possible do back up the Nautic chart software, and if so how.

Many thanks in anticipation.

Andy

I'm sure its possible to backup your waypoints (its a while since I've done this but I seem to recall it was just a case of using GPSbabel and a card reader). Not sure you can back up the cards, but someone else may know better.

Nauticpath protects their data. It can't be copied off (or at least couldn't be when I was trying to do it.)

I did hear a few reports of people who tried some aggressive methods (techy stuff) and ended up with an unusable card (and no backed up data.)

Hopefully things have changed and I'm now wrong, but that's what I found a few years ago.
