Cannot get Ch 37a

I have a handheld radio, and have just updated the firmware.

I can no longer get channel M or 37a with the new firmware, but I could before.

Any ideas?

Its a Standard Horizon HX870E.

Thx !

Nope.

I suspect it is because Standard Horizon in their infinite wisdom locate their updates on their USA site. As Channels M1 & M2 are UK only, I suspect I have flashed my radio with non-UK firmware. Will call them in the morning. But as of right now, my handheld is next to useless.

Confirmed from Standard Horizon UK tech support it is the US firmware update that caused my issue. Applying the US firmware removed the ability to select UK in the radio setup screens, and channels M / M2 are UK only channels.

However, there is a "secret" way to fix it:

- Switch radio off
- Hold down MENU & 16/S buttons whilst powering radio on
- When it boots, select UK, OK etc.
- Radio will restart.

Of note, I have two of these radios, and the above procedure worked for one of them, and not other. So the one that remains "broken" is being returned under warranty.

F*****g yanks !
