Conecting new Suzuki OB to battery

Hi

We have bought a new Suzuki 6HP OB with alternator, no instructions came with the alternator (its and option not covered in the manual) so can anyone help us with wiring advice?

I seem to remember that the alternator can be damaged if run without a load eg battery or resistor, is that right? if so what is the solution? also do we need a regulator? if so what type?

I will be asking the supplier tomorrow but any help would be useful

thanks

Turns out to be simple. just connect the wires directly to the battery. there is a built in rectifier/regulator.

we were advised not to run the engine without connecting to the battery for long periods as the rectifier may over heat.
