Engine bay cams /IR (?)

Having just mopped out the (prev pristine!) engine bay on the Pac (failed oil cooler clamp, which allowed the locating lug in the bottom of the cylinder to split and drop the oil - now brased up and good to go) I want to look into fitting a pair of infrared (?) cams in the engine bay and small remote monitor on the dash....

The engine bay is plenty big enough and loads of space on the dash, but the monitor will be completely exposed and will likely get very very wet.....

Anyone know of / recommend anything /a system that might be suitable?

PS the warning lamps and buzzers are all very well, but we have found that you have to lose a fair bit before they activate.....no guarantee a camera would sort it, but it couldn't hurt to know /be able to see 'whats occurrin' in there in general.....

Thanks

Depending on what electronics you have, you might be able to plug a camera straight into your plotter. Raymarine E series have this capability.

I think that because I have the Lowrance HDS 7 (not the 8, which can) I can't......

That said, I think it would be good to have a dedicated screen......

You can buy oil mist detectors which would pick up the fine spray from a leak hose or joint.

Camera will probably be alot cheaper, can't see any detectors small enough for your RIB.
