fuel gauge shows full - always

Hello

Re: zodiac yl 380

I have acquired this recently.
The fuel gauge shows full at all times.
bilge pump works but lights don't

Fuses all ok.

Is this a familiar pattern?

next step?
Is it worth fiddling with fuel sender or replacing?
Where do you get replacement?

Grateful for any advice.

Fuel gauges on boats are notoriously unreliable.

remove the wire from the tank --key on gauge should read zero
if not bad gauge or wire shorting out

Take light bulbs out and stick multimeter on contacts to see if you are getting 12v if not trace wires back look for any breaks in wire, check wiring on console at switch etc!

Where are you located?
