Furuno gp3500 chart card

Hi I just bought a furuno gp3500 plotter second hand to fit into the delta I'm currently fitting out.
I assumed it would use standard cmap chart chips (which I have for our area) however it uses a stand alone chart chip which is peculiar to furuno.
A new chart is £150+ I'm just wondering if anyone knows a way of getting the chart data onto the plotter or maybe some way of copying the existing chart chip I have onto the furuno chip don't mind paying for it but would prefer not to spend over £150 on another chart when I already have it anyway
Alternatively if anyone has a west coast scotland chart for sale or would like to swap for an English channel chart
Cheers
Ken

Don't know if yours is an earlier model, but Furuno says you should be able to use C-MAPNT, NAVIONICS Nav-Charts and FURUNO MiniCharts.

They come in two flavours - you pick when you purchase:

"FURUNO MiniChart, NAVIONICS® Nav-Chart™ or C-MAPNT Chart
note: Choose from two units that accept either C-MAPNT Charts or Navionics® Nav-Chart™/Furuno MiniCharts when ordering."

This is the Cmap version but it uses furuno's own chart chip not the usual oblong with a chamfer on
Not the best picture but you can see it's Totaly different to the usual cmap chip

Is that a CF (Compact Flash) card?

Have you tried contacting Cmap & asking if they do a trade in? Navionics do & it's a hefty discount.

Cheers for the suggestions the update looks good at £79
But we're firth of Clyde based and it seems most charts start or end there or don't go far enough each way for our potential use so id need to go for the extra wide chart which looks like it will be £179 if I read it correct
I've already got an entire UK cmap chart in the usual format & a garmin blue chart in the micro sd so it's kinda pissing me off a little having to buy yet another chart
I was hoping someone would have found some kind of hack to get round this
I've not had much experience of furuno and didnt realise cmap came in a different format would have been nice to use the chart I already have

Afaik only the Garmin charts have been hacked .....allegedly 😎 I've had a go with the Navionics in the past to no avail. I think the Navionics are tied to the internal serial number of the card, so the card acts as its own "dongle"

.....sh1t happens.......

I've got the garmin blue chart in the plotter in our hard boat I couldn't believe I'd paid 200 quid for someting the size of my fingernail I'm sure it's just a micro sd I guess it would be quite easy to make a carrier to use those but doesn't look possible with the Cmap
I'd imagine cartography will have to get cheaper soon or everyone will just be using I pad type nav units
We downloaded navionics onto my wife's Samsung tabletas a back up.Can't see much difference in functionality from the plotter on the dash that cos 5x the cost of the tablet
