Make sure that you have the 'Tides and Services' map enabled/loaded. If that doesn't work - make sure that you have got the latest firmware for the unit (check on the Garmin website).

It took me ages to work out why I couldn't get the tidal info on mine...

If you havent got the latest firmware I think I have the power/data cable to fit it - so could lend you that at some point so you can update it.

Thanks for the replys guys,I will try the tides and services enabled first as i guess you'll have to remove the unit to update it with a pc?
Thanks very much benc for the offer of cable loan,if it isn't difficult i'll take you up on that offer. Is it worth doing the update anyway? The unit has probably been in the rib since 2002(i'm not the first owner)I might be missing out on some useful features

I did my update, without issue - was quite simple to do.

The unit basically plugs into a serial port on your pc, into the power outlet and into the gps unit.

You download the update software from the garmin website, and run it.. and it finds the unit, and does the update - if I remember rightly it takes a while...

I had the same problems with tides when I got mine, and all worked perfectly after the update.

I will try and hook out the unit over the next couple of days... are you out in the boat this weekend... could meet up somewhere and drop it off...
