Dropped off the unit at Garmin HQ today, what an impressive sight their new premisses is. The service engineer came down and collected it to run some tests whilst I had a loverly cup of Tea and read T4 magazine. When he returned he said there was a definate prob with the card reader. So I'm paying a Fixed rate repair fee and should be supplied with either a customer returned unit or a brand new unit from stock and a 12 month warantee.

£85, not bad for a brand new Plotter that fixes directly in place of the other one with a 1 year Warranty.

No - that's not bad, especially with a 12-month warranty. Did they supply you with a new 182C, or a more recent variant?

Was a direct replacement. I wouldn't have wanted the newer ones anyway, they look pants and have smaller screens too.
