Garmin 451 start up issue
I have wired up my plotter and got it working with my VHF but I'm having a problem with the plotter on start up.
When I turn it on it starts up fine, loads maps then goes to the Menu, no problem there, BUT when I try and start it with the genuine Garmin G2 Vision card installed it won't load past the startup screen, I have to pop card in after startup. A small issue I know but a PITA all the same.
Any ideas?

How long are you giving it to startup with the chart card in? My handheld takes a while to startup when the marine chart is enabled, as it has to load it into memory & takes a good minute to load.

Might be worth checking if there's a software update for the unit as well.

how did you get on with the downloads ? I meant to add that I had recently discovered when I registered my 4008 with Garmin and downloaded the latest chart update it tied the chart to the device which means if I get another chart plotter for the SR4 then I can't use the same charts on the new plotter, would need to buy the same chart again, not impressed with that from garmin, hardly encourages any brand loyalty luckily enough Pikey Dave put me on the right path, cheers PD

Updated the plotter from 3.50 to 4.60 and it now loads the Vision maps in a flash.
Thanks for the help.
