Garmin Advice Required
After 20 years with Raymarine products (yep, ex sticks and string) I'm trying to get to grips with the Garmin product and associated cards/charts.
I've inherited a Garmin GPSMAP 498 with the rib I'm refurbishing and it's loaded with an English Channel series of charts. It appears to be in fine working order.
Checking compatability for downloading the UK series of BlueCharts from the Garmin site, this model doesn't seem compatible for downloading and, in any event, the price is somewhere north of £225.
Couple of questions for the Garmin experts on here:
Do I have to buy the whole of the UK (and the Netherlands) in order to obtain charts for North Wales/West coast Scotland?
Do I have to physically buy the card, rather than download?
Does anyone have a 'pre-owned' card covering these areas for sale?

Don't want to Hyjack, but while we're on the search for old Garmin softwate, anyone got an old Mapsopurce CD between V6.5 & 6.8 (inclusive) they don't need?

Pikey was in touch with me within minutes of posting but, for very good reasons, he's unable to assist on this occasion.
DM has come to the rescue however. Or he will have done when the postman eventually puts in an appearance!

Sorted.
Many thanks due to DM and, as agreed with him, I've paid £25 into the MacMillan RIB fund.
