Garmin Echomap - tracks

Hi there - I'm after some advice? I have a Garmin echomap UHD2 75C and Im really struggling to activate my tracks on my plotter. I cleared all the active tracks on a previous fishing trip but cant seem to be able to turn them back on. Looked on the online manual and the instructions just dont work or the options they are suggesting just aren't applicable on my machine? Can anyone help please?

"I cleared all the active tracks" ?
They're gone. You've deleted them.
If you want to keep tracks you have to save & name them. These will still exist after you delete the active tracks. It should start "laying" tracks again once you're on the move. I'm presuming this is the issue or have you turned the "track" feature off as well ?

I must have turned the 'track' system off because they no longer show. Just cant work out how to get them back on.

I've done a screenshot from the manual just in case you are looking in the wrong place.

You have to be in Chart View for it to work.

Make sure you are looking at a navigation chart, press the Menu button and select Waypoints and Tracks. You can toggle on and off a light green light that makes tracks visible.

Put it in the car hooked up to a battery, drive around and you will see if its working.

Thanks everyone for suggestions. The problem I have is that the instructions on the various Garmin manuals do not tally with my recently purchased plotter. I can work out where to turn tracks on and off but its currently off and just wont turn back on. I suspect it maybe something to do with my Active Captain App which I paired with the machine? I think I cleared the tracks by going through - Vessel- Active captain- settings etc. This may have confused things. I've now re-set factory settings and uninstalled the Active Captain App. Fingers crossed things will be back to normal. Next trip will tell me.

It doesn't hurt to just leave it on all the time, when the track memory is full it simply starts automatically removing old tracking (looping).

Obviously if there are tracks you want to keep, you can save tracks by using the menu to save tracks. Saved tracks can be turned on and off when you choose, handy for saving tricky navigation waters.

Thanks jonp. Yes I certainly try and leave the majority but most are fishing drifts and marks can get really conjested.

Not sure if you've got this resolved now but if not...........
I've just had a go at it on mine.

Pwr up and select a standard chart screen,
From there select "Menu"..."Layers"..."User Data"..."Tracks"

There appears to be two options, there is actually four.

The right hand button will either appear as "Active Tracks" with a green bar to the left of the text and two chevrons to the right or..It will just have the text with a black bar to the left of the text. Simply select the "Active tracks" text to toggle the tracks on and off. When the chevrons are visible and the bar is green "Active track" is enabled. If you select the "chevrons" you can choose the colour for your track.

To test this just "back out" again to the chart and zoom in as far as you can (about 5m per inch) and the GPS drift will scribble some track on the screen after a few minutes.

That's really useful thanks. I think it's sorted but certainly bear this in mind if not.
