ok ill try...about a year ago I bought a garmin 3010c with the latest blue cart software. At first it would not work on the full uk chart, Garmin sent me a software up grade, which then made it work....(they told me I was the first in the country with this product with the g2 blue chart). yes I was Garmins guinea pig.
Everything worked fine on the Garmin even the underwater camera in the av mode, but could I find the aerial photos of the harbours like in the adverts...
NO so back on the phone to Garmin
Sorry sir its not avaliable yet for the uk but when it is we will let you have it for half price
many phone calls and 9 months later they have now agreed to replace the G2
blue charts free of charge
got mine back today and its awesome
So if you have a g2 bluecart dated march 06 they will change it to the full version free of charge

So this gadget shows you a picture of itself, showing you a picture of itself, showing you a picture (ad infinitum); when all you really need is a sign in big red letters saying "you are here".

Or have I missed something?

at the risk of perhaps appearing a litle stoooopid. is this similar to a platinum series card?
it does look a little like a mirror of a mirror of a mirror [repeat til fade etc]

Someone mentioned [in another thread] the nmea dsc plotter link that shows the position of a distress call.

is this a runner and if so what are the details as its a brilliant idea!

no dont think so...instructions would help on the charts.
Had a play with it to day. if you put the arrow over the symbol of the camera on your chart it will give you the aerial photo of the harbour .

Unfortunately not. Garmin didn't include the facility in the last software update.

I would agree with you john , it should have been out 12months ago when they advertised it on the market.
