Garmin G2 vision

Hi all , i've got a G2 vision card i can get the card working with garmin home port but when i put the g2 card in the garmin unit nothing comes up i've got the card off a guy who as had it in a garmin 555 unit do i need to change anything so it will work in my 550 unit ? Advice plz

Last time I bought a garmin card, I was asked which unit it was for so it could be formatted correctly. Didn't think this was necessary but maybe related to your problem if that is the case.

Is it a genuine Garmin card or a copy? I'm pretty certain a copy will work with Homeport as it's not too picky whereas you need an original for the plotter. IIRC some units don't work with G2 Vision cards only G2.

it's an original one the guy had it in a garmin 555 my unit is a 550 I might need to contact garmin I'm not sure if you need to program the card into the unit .

Give Garmin a call Andy,always been helpful in the past can't be much,be interested what you make of the upgrade.Ol 'Mr,Jingles' is certainly getting The full makeover treatment mate! Nice to see it

. Yeah got the card cheap mate just want it for route planning I'm out this weekend on mr jingles fishing so will give the all over test he's looking good mate

Might be worth checking the 550 software version against the latest on the Garmin website. Download onto SD card and pop into the unit to update.

I think it's the G2 Card the 550 takes & not the G2 vision .
