I have just been looking at this unit, and the blurb states:

Preloaded with marine map detail of the UK & Ireland plus a worldwide satellite imagery internal map Single SD memory card slot for optional BlueChart G2 VISION cards

and

compatible BlueChart G2 VISION cards provide: - High-resolution satellite imagery which can be overlaid on the basemap - 3D charting information for a true “mariner’s eye view” perspective

Does this mean that there is no need to buy electronic charts? or are the preloaded "marine map detail" just a rudimentary guide and not up to a charts standard.

I have been wondering the same about these.
Don't think these are in the UK yet, but due imminently. Looks like they'll accept SD cards: 'G2 Vision', but probably not the current Garmin bluechart format.

The inclusive charts are indeed the BlueChart ones - ie normal chart standard. The g2 Vision are the bells and whistles so they can make some money on them!

Pricing around £600.
