Garmin v 12 channel

Hi all.
I used to have one of these about 20 years ago roughly. And I got on with it really well around the coast of South of France and south of the uk. I loved the way I could follow the track back
Can anyone advise what the equivalent of this is, but with today's technology .
I've tried looking, but it's a bit baffling to be honest.
Thanks in advance.

In the literal sense, the Garmin Etrex probably holds that position. Most people will use a phone app to do the same thing. If I was in "the field" I'd probably have a mapping etrex in the pack.
