Handheld VHF Recommendations

I bought a Uniden Atlantis handheld a few years ago and it is a very reliable set except that it is the size and weight of a carton of milk. I fancy a new handheld but smaller and lighter.

Can anyone recommend a replacement set, small, light, with good range.

I was involved in a mayday two weeks ago off the Mull of Kintyre and my Uniden could be picked up by the boat club 17 miles away..
