google play is the equivelent of buying from the app store, I've also got the Xexun, not installed it in teh boat yet, but at under 50 quid, with the 12v power lead, and a 99p SIM and the job's a gooden...
I may well "invest"!

Ok .. so 1 .. its free. And 2 when you actually go to Google Play on my PC, log in, it asks you if you want to install it on your android device, and without me even having to do anything more, it installs it remotely on the android device...
NOW THAT IS CLEVER !

Downloaded the Iphone app (starburst one) & it works a treat, does everything it say on the tin, though it did cost £2.49

TBH hadn't seen the £7 one until you pointed it out
Looks like there's four variations on a theme ranging £2.49 to £7.49. I've got the £2.49 one...it was easy to configure - tracker mobile number and password only - and worked straight off. I've only had it a couple of days but it looks like when you ask 'where are you?', it shows you a map scaled to show where you are and where the tracker is.
I've not tried any of the movement or geo-fencing stuff as I don't use it, though I may do in the summer when the RIB will be in the marina a couple of weeks.
Let me know what you decide to do...

I've just set up the geofence, piece of p155 with the app. I never bothered before due to it being a faff. I can see it being very handy when we're on holiday or camping etc.

Yep Just tried it. Perfect.
£40 for the tracker - a few years ago now, £2.49 for the App, running costs of about £5 to 10 a year for the SIM top up...nice deal

I've been in touch with David @ Xenun today, he passed on my details to his partner firm who have quoted me -
"TK102-2:82USD
Car charger:7USD
Delivery cost to UK by DHL :45USD,you can pay by paypal.(need extra 5% fees).
We know there is a much cheaper delievery way by HongKong post, but it
is not safe and takes around 1 month there. So we advise you use DHL
with 3-4m working days."
That works out at about £83 posted (although I had asked for a price for 2 so the postage may be a bit cheaper)
Have seen these on ebay but note the problems on non-genuine, whaddya think?

I think Nos (?) bought off eBay but don't recall who is was from.

Found the app in the iTunes store, € 2.99 only.
With which unit do use it? In de store it says for the TK102 (personal use), TK103, TK104, TK105 and TK106.
Could it last on a 12 volt battery, 85 Ah for say 2 weeks?

Cheers Leapy, yes I remember reading someone had bought of ebay and was able to check the imei number which showed it was genuine, that's what this seller claims too.

I use it with a TK-102...it says it lasts 2-3 days on an internal 850mAh battery...so, in theory - but there's lots of other factors - it should last 100x 2-3 days. It won't, due to natural discharge of your 85Ah battery and other things - but it'll be much, much more than 2 weeks

That would be me I bought mine from "wonder pc" on ebay The imei number checked out on xexun's website. It's worked perfickly for 12 months. As Leapy says, a tenner a year credit on a free Orange SIM The £2.49 app makes it even better. Xexun are missing a trick by not having their own app imho.

In the iTunes store it says:
"Apple do not allow applications to read messages, so a copy and paste is required to use the location SMS".
Does that mean that the location is not projected on a map right away?
At Amazon.de the Incutex TK102 costs € 129 and another € 16 for a battery cable. Is there a cheaper way?

The experts are on this forum, so I have another question.
Found those on Amazon for € 125 together.
Can the power supply be connected permanent while the Lion-battery is inside the tracker?

Yes, the Xenun TK102 can be hard wired with the battery in place.
As I said earlier, Apple doesn't allow Apps to read text messages - for obvious reasons - so you have to cut and paste. It's no big deal...
Cost...
Amazon at 125 - whether it's £, US$ or € is huuuugely expensive. This would only be a good price in Italian Lire or Zimbabwean Dollars.
I bought my Xenun from Xenun back in the day as I had no means of working out clone from real thing. There's a link from the GPS Tracker TK App website to a US company that sells the real thing for USD60 but I don't know about postage. Pikey Dave tells above where to get the real thing through eBay in the UK. Two good clues there.

Yes, the power supply charges the internal battery as well as running the tracker, that's how I have mine.

Thank you Pikey Dave.
The price of the TK102 differs quite a lot on Amazon, from € 34 to € 129. So you'll never know you get the real thing or a clone.
Therefore I put a mail out to Xexun in China.
Wait and see.
