In the mean time still reading on a forum GpsPasSion Forums - [TOPIC] Xexun "TK102" Tracker - User Experiences
and found out that move alert doesn't work well, speed alert works fine.
Going to try that tomorrow.

I've tried geo-fence, "where are you?" and speed alert with 100% success so far. I'm not surprised movement alert gets queried on the forums as it begs the question "what is movement?" - Is it 2cm, 2m, 200m and what is the meaning of life?...I think I'll always struggle with movement alert from ANY GPS device as it is completely at the mercy of the satellite timekeeping and a complicated algorithm. My boat and cars all "move" even when they're stationary.

Tracker
I now always use the speed alert with very good results. I usually set at 4kph and have no false alerts.
With movement alert I also had a few false ones.
The TK102 is still a great piece of kit a few years in. The only thing I changed was from the hard wired 12v adaptor to a phone type charger - they must have (better?) surge protection as the hard wired one blew when left connected and using my CTEK my charger. Its now always 'armed' even when the boat battery is on charge

Today had a try out for more than 4 hours.
At first I used Speed Alert at 10 - 20 - 30 - 50 km/hr. Each time I got the answer 'speed ok!' from the tracker. Saw the green led blinking so there was a good fix on the satellites. Drove around 100 km/hr but there was no alert send to me.
Second I had the car stationary for more than 6 minutes so the tracker could get a fix on the satellites and its location. Tried again Move Alert, got the answer 'move ok!' and drove more than 20 kilometers but no alert appeared.
The only thing that works is Locate Tracker and Auto Track; I have to call the tracker and it answers with its location or the device sends a SMS almost permanently.
I'm very disappointed, spend € 94 on the tracker TK102, € 20 on a SIM-card with phone credit on it and € 3 on the iPhone app. And that all seams a waist of money. The tracker doesn't warn me when my boat is moved are in acces of speed.

Mark...the reseller market for the TK102 is flooded with clones. I fear you may have one.

Hmmm...then diagnosis from afar becomes difficult I'm afraid as the problems you're reporting aren't replicated at this end

I am sure you are doing this correctly to get the message speed ok but have you tried
speed123456SPACE5 ( obviously the 1-6 is your own pin and space is a space :-) )
At 5 you really should get a very quick trigger. I cannot see why you aren't at your settings though
Good luck
Jeff

@Jeff: the iPhone App sends the message so I don't type anything.
Exemple speed123456 050 for 50 km/hr
Is that the correct way?

I just tried speed123456010 for 10 km/hr so without any space and the answer is speed ok!
That is I typed it without using the iPhone App.
I get two messages:
1 = format error
2 = speed ok!

Tracker
it should be
speed123456 10
I suspect that with the 50 kph the fact you used 050 could have been the issue ? no zero needed.
I dont use the i-phone app - just by text from my mobile. The speed alert send me a text 'speed' and a link to google earth. Click on it and location is shown
Hope this works
Jeff

@Jeff: thanks.
I put in speed123456 10 and the answer was: speed ok!
I give it an other try tomorrow.
The iPhone App adds a zero automatically.

Had another go at it today and did as Jeff suggested. But no result.
My supplier of the tracker advised to install software of the cd that comes with the device. Has anyone done so?
I opened setup.exe and tried to install GPS Tracker.lnk but need an ID and Password, what does that mean? Where do I get these?
Maybe the solution is within this program?

Is there anyone who uses the Tracker 102 strait out of the box?
I have done what the booklet says: Initialization and Authorization. And the tracker tells me where he is when I ask him, both by SMS.
Why is there a need to install the little CD? I need a password, which I don't have. Put in Imei number several times, on the website www.gpstrackerxy.com that's in the booklet, and this is refused.
So I'm really stuck. All I need is Speed Alert. Please help me.

Mark...my XENUN TK102 - bought direct from Xenun - worked straight out of the box. Three or so years ago I unpacked it, put in a SIM, turned it on and away we went. And we're still going strong...I didn't use the cd nor do I have any idea as to why I should have to or what purpose it would serve...you don't need any password other than the one you invent for texting the tracker itself...I have no idea who or what gpstrackerxy are.
Go HERE to the official real deal Xenun website. At the top of the website - "Is your tracker from Xenun?" - put in your IMEI and see what the response is. If the response is negative then your tracker is a clone. My personal experience - yes, I've been there - is that the clone looks the real deal, there are folks on the web telling you the clone is the real deal - because they're lying, thieving bastards, but functionally they're all over the place with the sort of problems you're having now.
I know there's folks on here who have bought the real deal Xenun from a reseller. As I hinted strongly earlier in the thread, personally, I'd have zero confidence in the authenticity of any TK102 tracker bought anywhere other than from Xenun themselves and through their own website.

Thanks Leapy.
I put in my Imei number and it's not recognised by Xenun. That was some days ago and I reported that to my dealer where I bought mine. His answer was that it's NOT a clone ...........etc. But your words make me think different.
Had a look at the Xenun site again. Can't find a webshop or whatever though. Where can I order an original one and what would be the costs incl. shipping?

Mark...if the Xenun website rejects your IMEI then it's a clone for sure whatever the seller said.
I got my Xenun direct from Xenun...I haven't got the details with me as I'm away all day. I can sort it for you tomorrow. Others may come along in the meantime and advise.
Have you tried using a geo-fence through the iPhone App and does that work? If it does then you might consider sticking with what you have and avoid further expense? Just a thought...I suspect direct from Xenun for the tracker, power lead plus postage from China that you could be rushing towards €100. Again, others who have bought more recently than me may be better placed to advise

So I started all over again:
Send: 'begin123456'
Answer: 'begin ok!'
Send: 'admin123456 0646497656'
Answer: 'admin ok!'
Then I called the Tracker 102 and the answer is that it is engaged.
Then I send: 'check123456'
Answer: 'battery: 100% - GPS: OK - GSM: 100% - GPRS: OFF'
And that's all, no SMS in response and no position.

I'm not familiar with the 'Check' function you talk of but my TK102 is three years old so newer ones may be different or have more functions.
If I call my tracker I get two rings, it answers and then immediately hangs up. Approx 15 secs later I get an SMS from the tracker that looks like this:
lat: 52.609923 long: -001.515033 speed: 000.0 31/05/12 11:57 bat:F signal:F imei:354776031842435
PD: Is this what you see?
Mark: I still think you have a clone
