ICOM 421 interferance from engine

Any thoughts

When the engine is running it interfers with the reception on my Icom 421 VHF set. I can still hear what is been said but it is a struggle. I would like to cure this problem.

The engine is a 60hp ETEC. When I turn off the engine the reception is perfect.

I have exactly the same problem since I fitted an Evinrude Ficht 150.

I intend to check the grounding of the antenna to the A-Frame and possibly to try grounding the A-Frame to the engine.

It is a pain!

I had no issues when I had the Mercury 4-stroke.

What Aerial are you using Mick? is it a Vtronix?
