Icom Ic-m503

Howdy folks, just managed to acquire a ICOM IC-M503 fixed VHF and have a couple of questions bout it.

Are the back of the units waterproof? Thinking bout mounting it ontop of my console but because I dont have a screen the back will be getting hit with waves at some point.

Also any ideas where I can get a mounting bracket for it and the clip for hanging the mic onto?

Cheers folks...

Just checked on the ICOM website and it looks like the 601 is wider by 55mm so I dont think it will work.

Thanks for the offer tho....

Anyone else know where I could get these parts?

Cheers

Get a length of alli strip, you can bend it shape it do anything you want to sound like a good tune!
Back to the subject, I have made up a brackets for my radio & mic, works a treat
I used about 3mm X 12mm because this was what I had kicking around but wider would be better!

Gary,
I had a 503 on an open rib before and used to take it on and off with no problems, and it was a wet boat. Go up and see wee Jenny at BEE (in the marina above the riggers) and tell her I said you were to go in and she'll probably have what your looking for.

sorry been away for a few days so missed this thread.

The Icom M503 is fully waterproof front and back.
We recomend you tape the cable to stop water getting into them not the set.

It is the choice radio of large parts of the mod in open craft.

Hope that helps.
If you have any further questions please drop me a mail or pm.

Regards

I am interested to buy ICOM M503 and DS100 controller.
These are outdated since years,
but I would like to use them for SRC training
in Germany. The examination is still made on these radios.
