Icom M302

Have seen some icm 302 dsc radios on ebay, will they work ok here? They appear to well priced but I did see in another forum site that they are infact japanese market versions similar to but not identical to the 402. Same form mentioned them requiring "crystal" changes.

Anyone know about these? may PM Mr Brooks for the inside curve when I get some time.

Simon,

I expect JB will correct me if I am wrong but I believe they are old model American market units, prior to the M402.

PS Jon if your reading this we are out of Jelly Beans in the office and as a consequence sales of Icom units are suffering please help - urgent!

OK......

The IC-M302 is designed for the American Home market.
It is not class D DSC it is SC101 (a lower standard)
Channels will be wrong and some will be missing.

It is NOT legal to fit it to a boat any where in the EU
The fines are very steep, ask Mike Martin.

Icom do not offer world wide warranty.
If it goes wrong it goes back to the States.
We wont touch it here.
Nor will other Icom agents in the EU.

Hope that helps

Jon

Steve.. will try to remember to send you some in the morning!
