The RIB was delivered new by us in May 2007, a 9.5m standard beam Offshore with twin 175HP engines and fully coded. Main function is 8 individual diver stations with individual kit storage facilities and all fully removeable and adjustable. The electronics package required everything to speak to everything else. As SAMS are increasingly undertaking contracts from outside organisations it was essential that if one component failed there must be sufficient duplication to carry on their research work.

I used to work there many moons ago building deep water experimental experimental equipment, they had the 6.5m one then new about 4 years ago. Simon and Hugh must think Christmas has come more than once this year.
In saying that anything I would have to say about them would in all likelihood be libellous! :-)
I'll need to look for it beside Calanus (the first time I have ever heard it called a deep sea research vessel, I have to assume you have never actually been on her at sea!), I assume on the South side of the pontoon?
