iPhone 3G with GPS

I had a play with mine yesterday in the Solent:

-it locks on very quickly;
-position appears acurate and updates quickly;
-screen is pretty difficult to see properly in sunlight but it may have been coz I had Polaroid sunnies on. Didn't think until I got home;
-I couldn't figure out how to get the Google satellte image up. Have Apple dispensed with them?

So, currently one would not want to use it for serious navigation one needed to rely on but, especially with 3rd-party add-one via the iTunes App Store, iPhone 3G could prove to be a worthwhile backup.

Even, dare I say it, a primary unit...?
