iPhone 4 Waterproof case

After reading this thread, today I just received my iDry case for my 3GS. £15 about the same as a resealable bag. Apparently it also works for iPhone 4. I didn't want to spend too much as I don't know how long I will still have my 3GS, so the iDry case was perfect. Will probably factor in the cost of a genuine LifeProof case when I next change phones.

Otherwise iDry case was smaller than I had expected after reading various reviews and seems to work reasonably well once you lick your finger to slide across the membrane. Probably not a case for everyday use but very easy to get in and out of the case.

my genuine Lifeproof case arrived the other day for iphone 4, fitted perfectly and looks the bussiness, since ordered a Lifeproof bike bar & mount, it'll fit on the grab handle on the console just nice

With the hooky "Lifeproof" case that I got the screen sensitivity is dramatically reduced. Is this the same with the genuine article, or is it as easy to use as without the case?

I have never taken mine off, it's a little worse in the edges, that's all

+1 I just find you have to be a little more careful, but no real problem.

I haven't tried it on the rib yet, but it worked fine last Sunday in the snow

In my opinion it is not as sensitive with the genuine Lifeproof case than with no case but it is a lot better than the non genuine cases. If you do a lot of typing it may annoy you at first and then after a while you just don't notice it anymore.

My non genuine case lifts a little away from the screen as you get closer to the middle, my genuine case was pretty well flush.

Well I didn't hear anything at all from redracingparts, but I got a full refund via Ebay/Paypal.

I had a look at a genuine Lifeproof case this week and the touchscreen sensitivity was much better than with the otherwise apparently good fake.

There do seem to be loads of cases for iPhones that alledge toughness etc but dip out on the water/splash proof catergory.

P.S. Not too interested in ziploc bags know about them already.....

The best waterproof case I found so far was a condom. Just pop it in there and tie a knot in it. Heavy duty ones are better of course. But thickness, ribbing and colour scheme can interfere with camera op's. I've filmed underwater with mine in a regular one. Not at great depth of course. Do make sure you don't have sharp bits on yer phone before inserting. Sensitivity is 2nd to none by the way.

Looking at getting one of these Life Proof cases for an iPhone 5.... Main question is do they effect the ability of the Microphone.... I currently have an Otter case and loads of people complained that I wad muffled unless I held the bottom of the phone close to my mouth.... I "modified" the case and removed the plastic and rubber around the bottom of the phone and get no complaints now....
