Lead Crystal Batteries

As the title, has anyone come across lead crystal batteries.
One of our suppliers has started pushing them, and what he has on his web site sounds good. The two areas that I have spotted that are not mentioned are charge density and price As one of my batteries is showing signs of dying, I was wondering........

Interesting discussion here (not much info, but from a group that relies on batteries more than we do):

and another here:

Personally, I'd never heard of them, so I'm glad you posted the question.

Worth checking if you can mix them in a 2-battery system. Normal batteries and gel batteries aren't a good mix (I've been told). I can see these being the same?

Claims, secrets, pictures of gel batteries but no independent test data or scientific explanation....
The chemical process is that of any lead acid battery, so nothing new. In some publications "SiO2" is mentioned as an additive; that would explain why crystal batteries are heavier than normal lead acid batteries because SiO2 is what we all know as sand!
Sounds like a hoax to me.
