Lowrance blank screen

Yesterday the x51 fish finder flickered and the screen went blank. On/off powered it up and depth data came through for 2 seconds, then blank again. Battery is fully charged and no problems experienced before.

Anyone experienced this?

I am wondering if it is worth fixing or time for a replacement. Console has been drilled for this type and speed and depth transducers are fitted so not too keen to replace everything if it can be fixed.

A last ditch effort today with some wd40 on the connectors and a hard reset will be made, but reading some USA posts on fishing forums this seems to be not too uncommon

Is anyone on here a knowledgeable on lowrance kit and how compatible a newer fish finder would be with x51 wiring and transducers?

Thanks in advance

After a few calls with lowrance and some research - it is not repairable. The newer units have different connectors and bracket hole patterns. So to avoid added work a second hand replacement would be easiest

Anyone in uk selling an x51 fish finder?
