I bought a raymarine recently and it showed location on a rough map - no card inserted - the GPS will pick up a fix and show location on the rough map, if it has a rough map? Sticking in a chart on the SD/Micro SD should make sense of it all

If in doubt wait till Monday and call Lowrance

BB if you go into chart options and select Lowrance, it should give you the coast outline, set the zoom to about 2 NM. The navionics+ is the card you want, it's fine for navigation, but lacking in contour detail in our area for fishing (same as any other make of card).
