Lowrance HDS waypoint import/export

I'm still getting to grips with my HDS. I can't seem to find out how to import waypoints & routes from a card onto the HDS or indeed export my waypoints from the HDS. I can't even find an option to tell the HDS where to store my data. I've got 2 card slots on the unit, one has the Navionics card in it & the other a 32gb microsd card for data. Any clues ?

Cheers Neil, unfortunately the HDS menu structure is different to the lcx/Lms. Can't find the options to import/export/ save. Looks like a call to Lowrance on Monday.

I managed to do that, but I don't remember offhand how. I'll poke around and see if I can figure out what I did.

jky

Okay, it looks like I did the following:

Pages; select Waypoints, routes, [whatever]; select Files; point it at your SD card (i only have one); point it at your waypoint database; and then, unfortunately, you're on your own as I wasn't going to re-import data already there.

Hope that helps;

jky

I think I've half solved it but I don't know how. I've managed to import my waypoints into the HDS, but I've only done what I did before which didn't work, so I don't know what I've done differently, which is annoying. I still cant find out how to export. When I go to "export" it only lets me point to nmea0183, not any memory card.
The manuals are woefully inadequate.

Never exported from the HDS, so I'm no help on that one.

Maybe a call to Lowrance (don't know how their CS is in the UK)?

Luck;

Sussed it👍 not very intuitive menu, but I got there. The manual was no help at all.

Care to share how (assuming you remember what you did)?

Just for future reference, of course.

Firstly I had to re-format the sd card. I had sonar files & setup configs saved to the card from the plotter. When I put the card into my laptop, I couldn't see the files on the card from the plotter. I thought that maybe the files were in some strange format that only the plotter could see, so I wasn't worried. I wrote the waypoints file to the card on my PC & put the card back into the plotter, the plotter didn't see the waypoints file. Basically plotter & PC were only seeing the files that they themselves had written. I formatted the card & started again, this time both sets of files appeared on both devices & I was able to import my waypoints into the plotter. When it came to exporting the waypoints from the plotter to sd card, you select the region of waypoints to export ("region" or "all") This brings up a dialogue box with 2 buttons on it "Export" & "NMEA0183" Me being slow on the uptake assumed that the nmea0183 was the target destination for the export, so was clicking the nmea button expecting to get a drop down list of target destination options, Nope! You have to click the export button first, this gives you a list of target destinations, select the target (left SD card in my case) & click export again. simples when you know how. There is no mention at all in the manual regarding import/export of waypoints, routes etc.
