Lowrance LHR-80 Handheld VHF Radio Question

Does anyone know if this has the 'come and rescue me button!' and full DSC capability?

Lowrance LHR-80 VHF/GPS Handheld Marine Radio: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics

Looks a good price for a waterproof unit and as I am running an IPAD as a chartplotter the addition get me home backup that this 'may' have is interesting.

Any pointers most appreciated. I am trying to decide between a basic waterproof unit and a GPS DSC enabled unit. Need one for the weekend so what to order one tomorrow (Tues).

If I thought the Lowrance one had all the bells and whistles I think I would be happy with it but I am unclear as I seem to see a US version and a EU version and the EU one may not have the red button!

The only thing making me like this over ICOM etc is the basic GPS plotting capability which would be handy in my Kayak as well!

Cheers for any pointers.

Just downloaded the manual

http://www.lowrance.com/upload/Lowra...101_031909.pdf

and it says 'DSC not available in Europe' on the front page so I guess that answers that question! So ICOM or SH?

Correct not DSC in Europe.

i have access to both ICOM and standard H. DSC handhelds.

I am glad I bought the icom, so easy to use compared to SH model, nice new menu structure and feels the part.

Regsrds

thanks, there seems to be quite a few models for sale in the ICOM range, have you any idea which one is the most basic 'red button' model?

I presume its the IC-M91D but not very familiar with these things!
