Marine cable

Anybody got a source for this where it can be bought by the metre? I mean the proper tinned marine grade cable. Would prefer flex as this can be stripped for singles and most of the runs would be better in flex anyway.

Had good service from genuinedealz.com in America. Much cheaper than Merlin for exactly the same product made by Ancor marine.

I used "quality" trailer lighting cable and have terminated the whole 7 core end in an IP62 (I think) rated box on the frame - then broke out from there. Theory is that if the box is selaed, the cable should survive (and if the cables to the lights don't it's a short run to replace). Console end has a huge lump of silicon to seal it, and the crimps are similarly gooped...

Theory being that 7 cores will give all & more that i'll ever need up there + a couple of spares. Easier to run one multicore than lots of singles as well.

I'll no doubt be posting in a couple of years warning you all against using trailer cable...... watch this space!

I am struggling to get 1-2mm two core round tinned cable. Seems easy to get flat or untinned stuff like H07 but getting exactly what I want seems to be difficult. Thought I had it but the local suppliers and net places don't seem to do it.
I have one more place to try locally.

Another big vote for www.genuinedealz.com

I have just ordered all the cable I needed to rig the new boat, also cable lugs, lug crimper, heat shrink terminal connectors, Heat shrink tube.

Even with import tax and shipping I saved at least 35% over UK prices.

Good quality stuff as well.
