McMurdo Fast Find Registration

I wanted to ask if anyone has recently purchased and registered a McMurdo Fast Find.

I did mine on-line 17th Nov, so about 6 weeks and I havent had any confirmation or sticker through the post?

The CG are snowed under with these things. Have you received an email from them? I changed some details on mine in the spring and got an email back fairly quickly. The paperwork was a long time coming...

Do these things go via the solent new headquarters for coastguard ? Sounds like issues ith the CG66 form as well, maybe they having some issues at the moment. I did notice on Saturday someone had an open mic on channel 16 which was open the entire time I was out and about (not me) so about 4 hours and didnt hear anything from solent coastguard to tell people to check there VHF sets which usually did happen in the old days.

I just called them down in Falmouth, and they haven't had my registration - they say they had some system errors at the time of my registration.

I really despair that this is a manual process. The crazy thing is there are people out there who would VOLUNTEER to integrate their database to the web but won't be able to coz its government sh@t.

While you are on this I don't know if you are aware that there was a product recall recently on the "Fastfind" model - some modification has been introduced.

It may be worth checking if you require this modification.
